Rules
01. Be nice. Cliched as it is, respect and etiquette around other players is always the first concern in any game. There is a basic level of politeness that should be kept in mind even when dealing with people you may dislike. If someone is crossing the border with you and treating you badly to an extent you do not feel you can settle privately, take it to the moderators.
02. Please only app if you are over 15. Considering the fact that death will likely be a frequent occurrence in De-Extinction, we want to make sure all of our players are old enough to handle this kind of content. This is by no means intended to insult the maturity of people younger than that, but maturity alone is a vague value you cannot judge by. Age as such is a set number and thus makes sure this rule is fair for everyone.
If you are considering to fake your age to get in, you are probably not mature enough to play here though.
03. No God-Moding. This, again, is just common sense in RP. You get to control your own character and nobody else. Roleplay is based on interaction between characters, so it would take all the fun out of it for one player to decide all the outcomes. To give an example, it is alright for you to write 'My character aimed a punch at his enemy's face'. This gives the other player the right to decide whether or not their character would realistically let themselves be hit. You cannot write 'My character punches him straight in the face and sends him flying against a wall' without having previously gotten permission from the other player.
04. No Playercest. Again, RP is all about character interaction. If you play more than one character, then your two characters cannot have close relations. You don't get to play out threads with yourself.
We understand that in a setting like this, characters would be aware of each other's presence and that's fine, but we ask that two characters of the same player do not get close to each other. Please keep this in mind and when you plan to app a second character first ask yourself 'would they and my first character logically interact a lot?'
05. Stay IC. Our setting requires an AU background for most characters, but we still ask that you keep their personality as close to the canon personality as possible. After all, the aim of the game is to see how characters would really react confronted with Jurassic Park, so just bending their personality whatever way won't do.
06. IC =/= OOC. Your characters will not always get along, but when someone's character dislikes yours, that does not mean they dislike you as a person. Likewise, if you dislike another player and take that as the sole basis for your character to dislike theirs, you are violating this rule.
07. Pay attention to writing quality. We don't expect your tags to sound like extracts from a published novel, but please aim for tags that are easily readable. Your grammar and punctuation should be to the best of your ability. After all, it is very unpleasant to receive a tag so full of spelling errors that you feel the need to decode it before you can reply.
Of course, there is a certain tolerance level here. The mod writing these rules speaks English as her second language, so she is not going to expect a level of perfection from her players that she herself can not maintain.
09. Put warning labels. Even though death comes with the premise of the game, nobody likes to stumble upon gory descriptions by accident. Please put warnings at the top of posts that contain sensitive content and make use of cuts for especially mature scenes. This applies both to violence and sexual acts. If your characters happen to sleep with each other, that's okay, but please put everything behind cuts, tag accordingly and lock the post to the communities. Additionally, make sure both players involved are over 18.

If you break any of the rules above, you will receive an official warning from the moderators. At that point you should really think about changing your behavior. One warning alone is no big deal yet, but if you manage to collect three of them you will be banned from the game.
However, in the event that a player commits an act of serious harassment or something similar, we reserve the right to ban immediately. We hope this will not have to happen.
