AU Masterpost
Here is a list of the player-based AUs so far, which you can use to structure your AU history for any new character. If a character's famous and would be recognized, it'll be noted here. If a character's part of a criminal organization others might have have heard about, it'll also be noted here and so on.
You are not required to post here, but it's recommended you note down anything that might affect other people's backstories.
As an example, let's say you play a woman who works for a big media company and recently went through divorce. You note down name and description of the company here, but you don't need to put the divorce on this page.
Crosshairs /
underdogs_suck / Transformers: Bayverse
Because the Transformers multiverse is, well, a multiverse, for the moment things are left pretty vague. As it stands right now, the Age-of-Extinction-era Autobot representation is a group of vigilante/do-gooder mercs, lead by a nondescript 'Boss' who is, for all intents and purposes, a cross between Jesus, Chuck Norris, Ghandi, and Peter Cullen. They operate just outside the law, and are wanted by a number of governments- but they're also the heroes of a number of small skirmishes, taking action where others can't or won't.
Whether or not they're silently condoned isn't clear, but they sure as hell know how to blow things up.
Sergeant Calhoun /
chargethesebatteries / Wreck-It Ralph
Obviously we're not in a video game. The sarge is a real-life Marine and for the sake of the AU hasn't met Ralph, Vanellope, or Felix and hasn't remarried.
Light Yagami /
93312639 / Death Note
Death Notes don't exist and therefore there are no Kira figures. Light has been in a long-term relationship with Kiyomi Takada who he met as a fellow student at Tokyo University. Other characters from Japan may be familiar with Kiyomi as she is a popular anchorwoman on NHK.
Sally Ross /
judge_ross / Original Character
You may not have heard much about Judge Sally Ross unless you live in that region or watch Chinese news, but you might have heard of Hunluan. It's a British-Chinese city on the edge of the Shantung Peninsula, given to China in the aftermath of the Tienanmen Square protests. It was the sight of a massive explosion in mid-December 1993 which left several people dead and several more severely injured. The neutron bomb was planted by a terrorist organization called the Hunluan Independence Movement (HIM) in protest of the change to Chinese property. Thankfully the bomb didn't reach full fusion or else the damage would have been far more severe, but the area is still quarantined today from the radiation that did occur.
Plourr Estillo /
warrior_princess / Star Wars: X-Wing
Star Wars Anastasia/Rogue Squadron pilot/Empress of Eiattu turns into a member of a large family with a Kennedy-esque tendency to end up in power. Nineteen years ago it was revealed that they were covering up the actions of a family member who was basically an evil sociopath.
Plourr was in the Marines for eight years, as a mechanic.
Tidus Higa /
sinspawn / Final Fantasy X
Water sports fans or those living in Japan may have been familiar with Tidus' father, Jecht, a famous water polo player who was active ten years ago prior to his disappearance and presumed death. Tidus hasn't nearly reached the fame of his father, but he's beginning to make a name for himself that anyone following closely might be aware of.
Masaomi Kida /
masaka / Durarara!!
Anyone who pays close attention to what happens in Ikebukuro, Japan would know that was a recent turf war between the two color gangs, the Blue Squares and the Yellow Scarves. Both gangs have only recently been disbanded. Izumi Ran, the leader of the Blue Squares is currently incarcerated for allegedly kidnapping and torturing "X." Masaomi is the former leader of the Yellow Scarves, but that would not be as widely known. I'm open to other characters knowing - just shoot me a PM!
